Across the five analytical chapters from Chapter Two through Chapter Six, we have been working within the "present moment" of a name. We analyzed the sounds spoken in this moment (Phonosemantic Profile), the emotional register perceived in this moment (Vowel Spine), the boundaries of force touched in this moment (Consonant Frame), the rhythm unfolding through time in this moment (Syllabic Rhythm), and the visual form captured by the eye in this moment (Letter Geometry). All of these dimensions attend to the name as a synchronic presence — the full array of perceptual qualities it presents in the instant of being spoken and written.

But a name does not exist only in the present.

Every English name carries time within it. Not abstract, philosophical time, but concrete, traceable time — thousands of years that once flowed across human lips. When a London mother names her daughter "Catherine" in 2024, she may not know that she is continuing a thread of meaning running from a fourth-century martyr in Alexandria, through the courts of medieval France, down the corridors of Tudor power, all the way to this very moment. But the thread does not break simply because she does not know. It persists in a more hidden manner — as cultural sediment, as an undercurrent of association, as that ineffable feeling of "this name just feels right."
